Five zombie games that will have you wanting to be one! (Or maybe not!)
The zombie survival genre has been around for quite some time now. Year after year games are made and a zombie title or two springs up and becomes a hit. Not all of these zombie games listed are what you might consider 'blockbuster' titles. But if your a true gamer, you know a blockbuster title is not what makes a game. Sometimes it can just be the fun and creativity of it all. This list was created with zombie genre fans in mind. So it might be a little biased.
When you have a game create an entire genre it must being doing something correct! Alone In The Dark is the very first horror survival title. Although the sequels have been met with negative criticism, and horrible game play. Alone In The Dark is still a classic and fun game to play. What original, genre starting title isn't?
Things are so much cooler when you put them into space. It was only a matter of time until someone thought of bring zombies to NASA. Dead Space did just that and more. If you want tight spaces, action, horror, and up-close combat then dead space is for you. Although the monsters in Dead Space can't be considered “zombies”. They are bio-genetically mutated and that counts as a zombie in my book.
A very easy game to get started. This game was basically a summary of any B-Rated zombie movie. The game play mechanics are simple. The creatures are regular zombies. Everything about this game is very simple and that is the foundation of its addictive and fun game play. If you are just beginning on horror survival titles then I recommend House Of The Dead and its sequel House Of The Dead 2.
If you're a fan of tower defense games then you probably already know this title well. Pop Cap games has done it again making a great zombie/tower of defense game. This game is simple, fun, and has fun graphics. The game is light so it can played on most modern cell phones.
Surviving a zombie apocalypse with your buddies makes it all the more fun. Left 4 Dead by Valve has brought that to you in Left 4 Dead and its sequel. The simple game mechanics with the need for friends has made L4D one of the top multiplayer games of all time. The AI is amazing and you will not be disappointed when confronted with multiple complex fighting situations. Valve has truly upped the zombie apocalypse genre with Left 4 Dead. The sequel is just as good but is missing a few elements from the original game. Both are still extremely fun and enjoyable.
